1. Chorizo Croquettas with Pesto - Providores & Tapa Room - 109 Marylebone High St, London W1U 4RX
2. Shrimp Burger - Fish & Chip Shop - Dashwood House, 69 Old Broad Street, London EC2M 1QS
3. Peanut Butter Cheesecake - Stoke by Nayland Hotel - Keeper's Lane, Leavenheath, Colchester CO6 4PZ
The cheesecake itself was lighter than expected but gloriously gooey and the tangy jelly was perfect with it (as a few million Americans can attest). The macaron was largend chewy inside so w not necessarly needed on this dish but was received gratefully.
4. Heritage Pork Chop - Sea Containers House, Mondrian Hotel, 20 Upper Ground, London SE1 9PD
As you can see it doesn't really look like any normal type of pork chop, more a mutant one, but we attacked it with gusto. It was magnificent and managed to produce a few different pork flavours, as if they were cut from different parts of the pig. The caramelised apples on top were lovely little accompainments.
Special mention aswell to the kale salad creamy chilli dressing.
5. Alternative Afternoon Tea - Brgr Soho - 187 Wardour Street, London W1F 8ZB
It consisted of a very satisfying 3 slider burgers, fries, lemon tart, cheesecake in a shot glass and choc brownie. Plus vanilla milkshake, cranberry iced tea and a bellini.
Th 3 burgers were: Southern fried chicken with coleslaw, salmon & coriander & cheese burger. The chicken was nice yet we expected a spice in the coating which would have pepped it up a bit, the fish burger was too coriander heavy so completed over powered so the star burger went to the beef one which was really flavoursome. A bit more cheese wold have been great but overall, really good.
