Another food round up for all you foodsters out there. Some tasty treats have been had so please check them out!
1. Twice Cooked Pork Belly with Chillies - Manchurian Legends, Chinatown, London WC2H
This beauty of a dish is sitting at number one for a very good reason, never have I ever tasted pork belly so good! Sliced thinly it takes on the flavours of chilli, garlic and Szechuan pepper to the max and is delightfully authentic. Got to be honest, really challenging Wong Kei as top Chinatown haunt for me.
No wonder this dish features in the Time Out Top 100 Foods in London.
2. Jamon Croquetas - Salt Yard Restaurant, Goodge St, London W1T
As part of This Little Piggy's Tapas challenge, these are the highest ranked Croquetas so far. The quality of the Iberico ham used is sublime! Could quite easily eat 100 of these in one sitting.....now there's a thought!
3. Ribeye Steak - Butcher at Leadenhall Market, London EC3V
Simple yet effective, who doesn't love a good steak? Vegetarians don't need to answer that one! Cooked in its purest form with a drizzle of olive oil and good dose of sea salt & black pepper over hot coals, the taste was mouth wateringly good. A dab of English mustard completed it.
4. Chorizo & Lentil Stew - Hispania, City of London EC3V
Although this is not the most appealing of dishes, it had to feature as the taste was seriously seriously good. It's going to be extremely hard not to eat this every lunchtime. Really lovely bar/ restaurant housed in an old marbled banking hall. Highly recommended
5. Roasted Salmon, Asparagus & Tomatoes - This Little Piggy Kitchen
For such few ingredients, this was a really tasty meal. It just goes to show, it's quality not quantity of produce that counts.
Full recipe & walk through is on the blog.
Enjoy!
