The sight of a humongous half globe filled with nearly every spirit imaginable as soon as you walk into the dining room was the first happy sign that it was going to be a fantastic night. We were seated overlooking lush green trees on the cliffside with waves crashing against the rocks, not too bad at all.
The staff were lovely and friendly and once the obligatory champagne was poured we perused the menus and both immediately agreed on the 'Top Experience Menu' as it offered a nice variety of ingredients.
First up was the 'Golden Ball' of starters.....affectionately named after Ronaldo as we were informed by the Easyjet magazine that he is in fact from Madeira and born 2 miles from the hotel.
It consisted of 3 very different layers which were revealed and presented one by one, after you had finished the first the next was emphatically uncovered.
